Debut EP 'Ready or Not'

We collaborated with producer, Dave Hammer, to transform our ideas into full-fledged songs complete with all the studio trimmings. We like to think that Dave tamed the shrew for the EP

The packaging is a collaboration with Domingo Morchio (Mi-wallet), a forward-thinking designer based in Sydney. We wanted to create a sleeve that was totally unique and as tax-less as possible on the environment. Each sleeve is handmade using a single piece of recycled paper.

RACKETT swagger, swoon and serve up unique disses of deadshit blokes on diverse and impressive debut EP ‘Ready Or Not’
— Rolling Stone Australia

RACKETT make riot pop. Based in Sydney, Australia, the band have moved from virtual anonymity to playing in major theatres and festivals throughout Australia, receiving regular airplay on community and commercial radio, features in Rolling Stone Magazine, become the featured talent in national campaign for General Pants and earned a reputation for “Thrilling live shows, a technically proficient and powerful sound, and a DIY hyper-femme aesthetic”, The BRAG. Having completed national touring with The Darkness (UK), Killing Heidi and Stonefield, the band have crafted an adventurous live show described by The Music, as “It’s intense, it’s magical”. The band have also appeared at Groovin the Moo (2018), Big Pineapple Festival (2018), Festival of the Sun, Secret Garden Festival, Hotter than Hell, Electric Lady Festival and more.

In late 2017 the band were crowned the winner of the Australian Hotels Association ‘Rockin the Puburbs’. The band are ambassadors for Strandberg Guitars (Sweden) and VOX Australia.

The band is fronted by Rebecca Callander on rhythm guitar and vocals. “Callander puts down her guitar after a few songs and jumps down into the crowd to dance with us, reaching out to hold hands and scratch heads and go a little wild, and it's honestly the greatest thing ever”, The Music. Ally Gaven on bass, Astrid Holz on drums and Kat Ayala on lead guitar. Band members have undergone extensive music and performance training (Berklee College of Music U.S.A, UNSW, TAFE NSW) and specialise in a range of genres from jazz to heavy metal.
